William and Sharon Dozier were at the SSPD speaking to Dick Wales when they Brought Dustin Denton in for booking. He clearly know Lt. Wales from the way he spoke to him, not only that night but in the court room during the trial.
William recognized Lt Wales as the man who had backed into the alley and spoke to Kim Pearson Wiley in his car. We were at their house working on Joe’s pickup when this occurred. We knew he was a police officer though the car was an unmarked squad car. We did not know his name. We found that out the night Joe was shot.
Denton spoke to him in the hall as the other officer was taking him into a room at the police station. He remarked. “Hey, you’re supposed to help me out here.”
Lt Wales denied that he knew Dustin or Kim Pearson. We knew he was lying due to what we had seen of him previously.
